My New Home..
I arrived at Kansas about a day ago, the time is delayed to a day compared to Malaysia. It is snowing here, and it was terrible. We are very tired. It was due to the journey, the +26 hours non stop journey and today is Awal Muharram , Friday 18th January 2008.
When I was at KLIA, I felt so happy, the first time we are going to be united again after many years separated. The feeling of independence is very strong, and the journey inside MAS was very good eventhough we suffer jet lag. Mr Abdul Rahman, the flight attendant was very helpful, he helped a lot, and it went the same to few cutes “pramugari” whom I believed attracted to the funky and cutey smiley Irfan. I still remember when Hum was sleeping, one of them took Irfan to their resting place and gave him some biscuits.
I sat next to Mrs XYZ from Philiphines, she was very talkative and shared a lot of information about States. She wondered why we came to Kansas at this moment because it is very cold there. At first, I refused to believe because I did think I can overcome all sort of obstacles and snow is not a problem. At the end it turns out to be very different.
Our first transit was Taipei, a not so good place, and the officers are not very friendly. I dare to say that because their counter service is very bad, no smiles, and the worst
part of it is their English is terrible. I managed to experience and see two brothers whom I believe from Middle East , performed their solat Zuhur and Asar, and it was a relieved seeing them performing their obligation. I and my wife did our Zuhur and Asar in the flight.
The worst part when I arrived at Los Angeles International Airport, it was hectic and very tiring. Imagine me brought 5 heavy luggage and at the same time lifting Irfan because Ummi was very tired. Oh ya, Ummi met her senior, she is going to Houston because her husband will work there, and up until this moment I hope they are safe because her husband has to go through interrogation process. Alhamdulillah, the officers at LA were not that tough to us except to our Mee Maggee, it ends into a dustbin, what a waste..they believe because it has some ingredients made from chicken, we might bring AVIAN FLU to their country, and it is no problem, they were doing their job.
It is near Subuh, and I want to read Quran, I will continue later, Insha Allah.
